Should one value be dominant over other values?

Last updated on 30 Jan, 2024

Anytime we create visual hierarchy our design will feel more resolved. Equal amounts of any element may leave the viewer feeling unsure about the artist’s intent. Either dark values or light values can be proportionally dominant. Your art can be any proportion of dark and light you desire, however design that has a hierarchy of visual elements is more interesting than one in which all elements are equal.
